Auto Stop Eliminator for the 2019 Ranger

Yes,

EGGS + BASKET = all eggs in one basket

If something happens to the basket it could break one or all eggs, thats an unknown

Around the mid 1980's we were told starters were going away. They planned to fire an injector, then the spark plug on a cylinder that was just past TDC, not sure how they were going to do it without a compression stroke though. That obviously didn't pan out. They also said camshafts would be replaced by solenoids controlled by the PCM so valve timing could be infinitely varied. When Escorts were introduced Ford was working with and Australian company called Orbital on a 2 stroke engine, it made good power and got excellent fuel mileage- until they leaned out the fuel/oil mix to make the EPA happy and the engines started failing. It's good to try new things, sometimes they even work. I'm sure I'll eventually have a vehicle with start/stop, hopefully the off button will still exist. Starters aren't getting cheaper.

The Fiat MultiAir is essentially that, but on the intake only. There is a cam lobe running the valve through a hydraulic linkage, and the solenoid can dump the fluid pressure.

I just think having this start stop feature functioning during engine break-in is a terrible idea.
It should be disabled during the first 1000 miles.

Starters are over rated, I'd be more than happy if my truck started like this...

Simple $4.00 trailer wiring test plug disables the auto stop/start. Makes the truck think it is connected to a trailer.

Good idea ^^^^

Every one needs a manual trans and to park on a hill or ramps, so they can bump start engine every day, only use starter motor as a last resort :)

It's got a button to push to disable the Auto Start/Stop....
Amazing, how many threads there are, with gizmos to cancel/prevent the Auto Start/Stop system, when all one has to do, is push the "OFF BUTTON"

It was mentioned somewhere on here that vehicles monitor that for maintenance schedules.

I think most people just want it gone without dealing with the switch.

You have to push the "off switch" each time you start the engine, default is "auto stop" which is reset each time system is shut off

You also have to turn the key, to initially, start the engine each day.:dntknw: It's tough, but somebodies got to do it!

I've gotten use to it. Push the start button, push the parking brake button, push the auto stop button, turn the "dial" to reverse and drive off. Out of the 9 million buttons the only one they dont have, is a $%#@ing button to turn the screen off. If im not listening to the radio or have a phone connected that screen annoys the hell out of me.
