Auto meter temp gage

There is a vent screw on top of guage that needs to be opened to allow it to self adjust. Did you try that?

The only other thing that I could think of is that there might be a sharp bend in the tube.

i looked and there is no vent screw on the guage..

Oops...sorry about that. I guess the screw is for liquid filled gauges only. Here's the manual from their website: http://www.autometer.com/productPDF/1115A.pdf

It doesn't mention anything about needing to be bled. If it's hooked up correctly and it doesn't have any kinks in the tube I'm not sure what could be wrong with it, I don't have very much experience with mechanical gauges, my aftermarket temp gauge is electric.

could be a bad gauge.
Never had a problem with them.

the needle only moves 5 degrees once the engine is shut off. Once i start it back up the needle goes back down.

where'd you mount it? pics?

i mounted the temp probe right behind the distributor on the intake manifold. The temp probe was too long so i had to use a spacer. There's another spot in the very back of the manifold, should i try mounting it there?

i drove the truck yesterday for about 20 mins and i shut the engine off then came back outside ten mins later and the needle moved to 140 degrees..why wont it move when im driving?
