Attention all Washington state members

id love to make it...maybe if i have employment by then :annoyed:

evans creek is like 3 hours for me and like you guys, im basically stock suspension so i wouldnt be allowed to break anything.

Ohhhh. I live in Washington! Too bad I have 2wheel drive. =[
With like everything stock.

I'd probably be up for January 31st!

If you have a stock rig, don't be planning on running any trails in January. If you took a stock rig on most trails there when it is DRY it would not look the same at the end of the day... Mine is slightly modified, and I have not successfully come home without body damage. I've done seomthgin everytime I've gone up.

But, with snow, the roads in the winter are pretty fun!
I think you guys (and me for that matter) would be better off just sticking to blazing snow on the roads in January.

I should "hopefully" have my winch mounted up by then too. That would give a good way to recover a rig if need be.

Turbo, did you move from Auburn to Buckley?

EDIT: Arron, You could possibly tag along with me, but I would not count on it untill into January. I usually end up taking somebody who finds out I'm going. So that would take up the passengers seat.

And, as for somebody earlier asking why you need to be street legal/ tow; you are legal to be on the trails without a lisenced vehicle, but there are roads that connect the trails, which you have to be legal on. And for being street legal while driving up there, there is a Sherrif up there that is a REALLLL dick.. he has given people tickets for the STUPIDEST things.. Tires sticking out an inch past the fenders, not having a "legal" bumper, even thought it is stronger than the original. He will give you a ticket for anything he can find. if your rig is anything but completely stock, he will be watching you.

I will try to make it if my lil' gal is up and running by then...though she's a stocker so mostly I'd be watching and maybe if someone has a spare passenger seat, would ride along with them. I can't afford to break anything either as she is normally my daily driver.

Hey Aaron, I'll see if my girlfriend is going or not. If she isn't you can ride with me man.

Dogboy you have some great points. The amount of snow that's going to be up there could potentially be ass-of-9. I hope you have your winch by then, cuz I'm sure someone is going to need it. I could have picked a better (later date) for this but I gett'n the itch for some Evans action. What kind of winch are you geting?

Actually, I have the winch, I just don't have the bumper, haha.
It is a Champion winch. I think it's from Costco (I got it for my birthday), so it ain't no Warn, but the way I see it, if it can pull me out twice, it has paid for itself! ($150+ for a tow truck)
I just need to buy the tubing, and fab up the bumper, then it'll be done.

You would have to pick a date closer to mid april, or early May, before the snow is gone. It tends to start around Thanks giving (Not this year...) and not melt off untill April or May. Last Memorial day, me and my cousin had to plow snow to get into the campground, but it isn't too often that the snow stays around that long.

Even then, I'm warning you your ug will not look the same at the end of the day if you take it on trails, I hope you understand that.

Yeah ive been watching some of the video footage of evens looks pretty rough around junuaryall the way to spring

Yeah. It would be cool to ride with someone. =]

Is their really anything you can do for a 2wd?

I know it's not possible to do anything by then tho. (money is tight)

Also, do you have a address for the creek so I can googlemap myself directions.

Uh.... I don't know of an address. It is kinda hard to find on google Earth/Maps.
Here are the cordinates from google earth though:
Lat. 46°56'36.76"N
Lon. 121°58'23.49"W

That is for the entry parking lot.

You might be better off meeting somewhere along the way, and then ride up with the person you would ride with. If it snows alot before then, you probably won't be able to get to the entry parking lot with a 2wd. Otherwise, you might be on a tow strap most of the way up.

Last February, me and my cousin went up and I could not make it to the entry parking lot. I made it most of the way, but the last mile or so there was too much snow on the road. But I also had stock tires, and the snow-plow of a front diff is what stopped me. If there hadn't been such big tire ruts (with the high part in the center), I would have been able to make it. My cousin in a Ram 1500 on 33's did just fine.

if it's alright with you guys, my cousin will probably want to go too. he has a Ram 1500 (one mentioned above) with a winch, and is VERY capible in the snow.

Good deal. The more the maryer. I have a jeeper friend that wants to come too. Your right, I don't think there is going to be a hole lot most of us stockies can do when it comes to trails, but if anything like you said even just getting to the staging area could be somewhat of a challenge. Either way it will be great to mash around in four wheel drive and see the sights. It's f-ing beautiful up there!

Yeah, it it is awsome up there!! I think if there are a few capible rigs, we could have them go in the front, and blaze the road, and if a stocker/ anybody gets stuck, then we can pull them out.

And as to breaking stuff, you can't really break too much on roads with snow on them.. You can get stuck but that's about it. And if that happens, there will probably be at least two rigs with winches, and even more to help, so it shouldn't be a problem.

ill have to see if my trucks got the tranny back in her by then. plan is to get them at xmas but who knows if it is done count on anouther slightly moded 4x4 ranger

Sounds like SOOO much fun.

My zip code is 98546, it's about 2hrs from the Creek. (going over the Tacoma narrows and all that stuff). Someone and I should so meet up, somewere. =]
