Armadillon's FW Ranger D44/Ford 9"

DEWALT? :bad: The Milwaukee Fuel tools are where it's at! They have 700 ft-lbs tightening, and 1100 ft-lbs of torque in reverse. They will break some stuff loose, including wrists.

And I happen to know a real great guy who sells them, too. :icon_thumby:

Hey hey now, it was free from the parents ;) 700 ft-lbs? Jesus Horticulturist Christ that's a lot.

DieselDane, are you the great guy you are referencing? I'm in the market for one of those and wouldn't mind a good deal on one...

Yep, do you want a whole kit with batteries and charger? Or just a bare tool if you already have Milwaukee 18v stuff? Shoot me a pm and I will see what I can do.

Drilled the knuckles out today with my HF drill press. Not bad for $60.

I'm pretty damn proud of my GF. I found out she has the magic touch with a drill press! She can oil it properly too! I MIGHT even let her hold a flashlight for me next time!

Oh you know we need pics of that, or it didnt happen :D

This pitman arm is a pain the f*cking ass. Puller from VatoZone wouldn't fit, so I grabbed another puller (3 prong). Yeah that keeps slipping off.

Gonna try heat and a bfh in a moment but with the axle in the way it sure makes for a short swing.

Use the pitman arm puller, and with a load on it, smack it with a hammer, should come off...

No luck last night, but I'm going to get a different pitman puller in about 15 minutes. I've got a better attitude, so I think that'll help ;)

Time to buy/rent/borrow an Air hammer?

YAY! GOT IT OFF!

I went ahead and bought a pitman puller and ground it down to make it fit. Applied a metric butt ton of tension and then heated the hell out of it with propane. I was worried about the strength of the pitman but it held up just fine ;) Just one more tool to add to the collection it seems.

Tierod isn't welded up, but you can of course see how I don't have any stock steering linkage in the way.

Cool news: My brother wanted my random spare amp and 12" Diamond sub, so I asked if he'd buy me the 3/4" Heims from RuffStuff as payment. Looks like that deal is a go. Now all I'll need for the front end is:
1. One last DOM purchase (for now...sliders in the future :smokin:)
2. A centered axle-side trackbar bracket from RuffStuff ($27)
3. Drill out es2233L so it will accept the other GM 1 Ton TRE
4. Drill out pitman arm to accept the new TRE
5. Figure out my buckets/frameside trackbar mount. (Already have the frameside mount. RuffStuff as well, of course...)
6. Drill holes/bolt up shock towers and figure out the lower mounting points
7. Weld everything.

Not really a long list now that I look at it. Hell yes!

It's comin along! Sounds like you've got one good day of work (enhanced by energy drinks) or a weekend once you've got everything in hand.

Don't forget to remove the original radius arm mount, things could get ugly at full stuff...
