Anyone taking advantage of the bankruptcy?

Since Chrysler filed for bankruptsy, the prices of their cars at the dealerships have dropped dramatically.

Up here in MN, a brand new GMC 2500 with 75 miles on it is selling at $21,000 for starters. I don't make enough $$$ to even think about getting a brand new vehicle, but if it dipped below 8 G's, I might have to think about it.

Yes, it's because of the economy, but a deal like this only comes once in a lifetime.

way way way waaaaay back before we hit recession (july 2008) my 2008 lariat f-250 diesel was 39,000 dollars....i picked it up but it was used with only 8000 miles on it..not bad for a truck with a sticker price of 62,000+ dollars!

I'm a hardcore ford man, always have been and probably always will be. Having said that If I were in the market for a new truck, I would be looking hard at a GM or Dodge because of the price alone. There will always be parts for these, be a pain to some to get warranty work done though.

because of the bail out to avoid bankruptcy and then filing bankruptcy anyways (and GM not paying their suppliers causing me to close my doors) I will never buy another GM ever ...... and after having a chrysler minivan I will never own another chrysler...... they just don't hold up for the long run....... everything about them (cept the price) is cheap.

unless thats a 4wd supercab or a 4wd crew cab thats not even a good deal. the short cab 2wd work truck starts at $26,000 on the official GMC website. Thats only a savings of $5000. The local ford dealer is offering $12,000 off the top right now on any new 2009 F series on the lot..... of course all they have are loaded 4x4s in the 35,000+ range. Still thats quite a deal ........ 23 grand for a loaded out F150 super crew 4wd with a 5.4L

PIcked up a 2009 Charger for 6k under MSRP, 4k under dealer invoice. and this was in the middle of April, before the bankruptcy.

If you can do it, get one. you are not going to see deals like this after this year...

Prices out here haven't moved a bit.

I'm with BDAB on this...not buying a GM or Chrysler car, mostly because they excepted bailout money. None of their cars are anything to be proud of anyway.
