Anyone seen a 1998-2001 Ford Ranger 4x4 converted to TTB?

My thing is that I don't feel like the CV shafts in the D35 SLA are as strong and reliable as the D35 TTB shafts. So i want a TTB with a stronger hub. Plus it's cheaper and easier to get more wheel travel out of TTB.

I'd really like a 2019 Ranger

Only thing now is, Raybestos seem to have gotten harder to find since Federal Mogul took over Affinity Grp (Raybestos' manufacturer).
I recently gave some suggestions to another user about this in this thread.

If you have a Carquest near you a few years ago when I did balljoints they had switched from stocking Moog to Raybestos.

I was doing them as needed and of course I straddled the changeover so now I have one Moog and one Raybestos...

TTB swap? :icon_idea:

I would take the 2019 just as it is. may be tempted to add a small 2-inch lift just to fit some 33s

I couldn't imagine the nightmare that would entail vs converting a 98-11 truck.

Carquest is owned by Advance Auto now. Most of the steering/suspension things Advance stores stock are Federal Mogul (Moog, National, BWD). I am not sure about an actual CQ store anymore because I don't have one near me. The nearest used to be a CQ is now an AAP commercial hub.

It might have changed, when I got them for my Ranger awhile after that Rockauto had Motorcraft for the same price as Carquest had whatever they had so I went that route.

I think they are somewhat separate. If they can't find anything they look on the "Advance side" of their system.

They aren't (and neither are the R&P gears, being lo-pinion). Plus you also got that bastard carrier that precludes installing all but one or two lunchbox type lockers.

I do have a Carquest not too real far from me... I guess I'll have to check there next time I'm in that part of town and see what they have available.
Thanks for the heads-up.
