Anyone know center bearing bolt sizes?

I lost a bolt and nut on my center bearing at some point in the last week or so, and the nut came off the other one, but by some miracle nothing flew apart.

I had thought these bolts looked small when I was doing my clutch job, so just to verify, does anyone know what size/type bolt these should be? I looked on fordparts.com, however no love, and have the one that was left, but it seems small for the size of the bolt hole.

Well, I think a "nice" Ford counter person can/could look it up for you. Or you can stick your finger or something in the hole and go to Ace and find a size you like. Don't think the truck will care.

Use either a short 5/16 bolt or an 8mm It just a nut, bolt and washer, nothing fancy :D

Thanks guys. I ended up calling Ford and all they could tell me was that it was a 10mm bolt.

Got 2 of those and associated hardware from the local boltery, put them in and they still look small - as in, I can 'adjust' the position of the bearing and carrier before tightening them down. I know this is normal front to back, however I can also move it side to side.

For now I locked it down where it appears to be 'straight' in relation to the transfer case/transmission, but is this something I need to be concerned about or do further work on, as in have a driveline shop ensure the alignment is correct?

I'm completely new to these 2-piece driveshafts, everything else I've ever wrenched on has been a one-and-done. Thanks guys.

Will a 12 mm bolt fit in the hole. If so, get a couple of those and give them a try...... I'm like you, got a two piece in my Mazda B2200; but, never messed with it and don't want to.

I would guess that if it doesn't vibrate, it is good.
