Anyone good at drawing? I need something drawn...

ok, i couldnt fix the damn thing myself. it kept wanting me to reformat back to factory settings and i couldnt do that. i would've lost files from the last semester of college and all sorts of other stuff. dad has been in atlanta for the last couple weeks and hasnt been able to look at it. we're messing with it right now, plus he doesnt have to go back to atlanta until wednesday. SO, i should be able to have something for you at the end of the week....again, sorry for the wait
lol, it's ok, really. I know how things go....

I started a bathroom remodel about 2 weeks ago. It was supposed to just be a couple day thing in an old downstairs shower - tapcon cement board on the walls, glue some fiberglass reinforced panels on the walls, and lay some tile on the floor.....

So two weeks later.... I still have another 2 days of work to do.... :annoyed:

Got everything cleaned up and prepped the first day and discovered that the light fixture was junk. Pulled down what I thought was 1/4" plywood on the ceiling... nope, it was a piece of panel with mold. Lovely. Cleaned, removed the fixture (day 2) and bought a new fan/light combo with some duct. Had to build a stud wall where the shower controls were to get enough depth for the new controls and had to lower the ceiling to get the new fixture in, then snake the duct out to where it could be vented. Started sticking the concrete board on the walls to discover that the walls were further out of alignment than originally anticipated... much shimming and cursing involved along with more trips to the store. Had to custom build some duct to work for venting the fan. Had to wait for the plumber to connect up the new shower fixture, which he promptly screwed up. Spent two days fixing his screw-up enough that I could work with it. I could go on....

To sum it up... I discovered a grey hair on my head... I can only assume it came from this project. :icon_rofl:

that sucks, it's the way it goes sometimes. like i always say, if contracting was easy everyone would do it. my last job actually went great, it was a 2 day project that took 2 days and i got 2 more projects from neighbors. on top of that, a lady that i gave a quote to last november wants me to start on her deck. sorry to brag lol.

lol, I would call you lucky... but with your computer problems lately I'm not sure how true that is :tease:

yeah i agree. my dad is still messing with it, he thinks the hard drive may be toast:bawling:

if that's the case, i'm gonna lose alot of my music, my entire adobe creative suite, one of my rendering programs, probably some pictures and probably some other stuff. :bawling: :bawling: i am so pissed right now i dont know what to do. i could care less about the computer working, i just want my files

Been there, done that.... that sort of thing happened with my laptop a couple years ago. I intended on keeping things backed up after that... but it never happened, lol. In a way though I do have backups of most things because I reformat roughly once every year or two and back up before I do that. And I keep a backup copy of every program I have now. My problem has become that short of doing a RAID array, ghosting my HD onto another, or having an external drive, it's too hard to back everything up... when you have a 250 gig hd that usually has around 150 gigs on it... that takes a few DVDs to back up.

i've got 2 external hard drives. an older one with 110GB and a newer one with 250GB....i have a backup of alot of my school stuff and some music and pictures, but not everything. the only program i have a disk for is solidedge, i'm really gonna miss illustrator and photoshop :bawling: :bawling: :bawling:

Wish I could help, I only have an old version of photoshop, never bothered to upgrade yet.

Hope you've been able to make some progress on fixing the computer! lol

Looks like I have until the end of this month to get it ordered and still get free shipping, I would say that I'd hope you could get it to me by then, but I'm not sure if I'll have the money to order it in time, lol. Work sucks sometimes...

well, i think the hard drive is done for......FRIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!!!!! i'm thinking about crying in a little bit.

my dad is home this week, but so far, no success.....i'm really sorry about this. my mom has a program on her computer i may be able to use. i'll let you know ASAP

That sucks!

I'm probably not going to have the money to order anything by the end of the free shipping offer anyway... just discovered last night that one of my student loan companies (of course it's a government run one) decided to empty my bank account and stick me with overdraft fees and a negative balance. The worst part is that it was without notification to me, or my permission, and the latest bill they sent me does not reflect any of the money they've taken out for the last 4 months (it was disguised as a normal looking deduction, like I had used my bank card to pay for something). Now I'm highly pissed.... it was only like $20 until the past week or so, and then they hit me with two $30 charges and two considerably bigger ones.

banks SUCK. i had that happen in college once or twice. they would notify me after a few days that i had overdrafted my account and charge me $35 per use of my debit card. they just wanna f*ck you

Yea... I think they forgot the lube... my @$$ is hurtin....

lol.......well i was just talking with my dad. he is gonna talk to one of his IBM buddies and see if he can recover any of the data off my hard drive. so maybe i can still get my programs and files back. he just left to go to his office right now, so we'll see

Hope he's successful, that would suck to lose all your stuff, that happened with my lappy years ago and I was able to save some of the stuff but lost a lot too.
