Yea, you're more than welcome to use this stuff in your portfolio, I'll get pics of things for you. I threw out the thought of ad space if you wanted it for your design work since distance isn't always an issue with that. But your choice.

It's hard to get work up here through the winter, try to build up a reserve during the summer and pick up any lil stuff I can through the winter. Wish I had my garage built, I'd take on some repair jobs to keep cash flowing. Maybe next year though, but with this economy it might take longer than that.

very true, i'll let you know, i just interviews for a job last wednesday so i dont know how much time i'll have for my design stuff if i end up getting it. plus, i wanna keep running my restoration/renovation company on the weekends, we'll have to see.

Good luck with getting the new job! I gave up searching here, over two years of trying to get hired somewhere was enough. I figured I might as well work for myself at that point.

i've been lookin here for almost a year. until i had this last interview i was about ready to start tryin to really advertise for my home renovation company i was running. i still havent gotten the job yet, so i still may have to.


i did one more logo....he kinda looks like abe lincoln got drunk and dressed up like a leprechaun. i'd have to change some stuff around if i did it in the computer.

i'll put it in 17x11 format in a bit.

ok, here's 2 more, i drew the column real quick like, i could add color to it if you wanted.

also, to give you some more ideas, if you could get a pic of a landmark somewhere around butler and send it to me, i might could do something with that. a natural landmark that anyone around butler would recognize would be best, that way you dont get into any copyright laws. i was up there about 2 years back, my wife's grandma lives close to butler, but i dont remember anything standing out. you'd know better than me though. or, if you had a pic of the bridge that is mentioned on the website. i can put it into photshop and do some cool stuff to it and come up with a few more ideas. (once the snow is gone of course)

I'm not sure that there's any real prominent landmarks in the area. At least not that I can think of. Mars area has their spaceship, but I dunno.

Probably not, it's way down by my Grandma's place, it was a big thing back when it was built 40 or 50 years ago, but not so much now. EPA would never let you get away with building such a thing nowadays, lol.

lol, I did have a closer deadline, but they just extended the offer yesterday. If anything really catches my eye, I'll let ya know and I'll post up any other ideas I come up with. Thanks again for the help on this!

here's what the magnet would look like, keep in mind that once the leprechaun is done in illustrator/photoshop, it'll be a lot cleaner......you could keep it this way as well. i added the "licensed and insured" (thats what we had at the contractor company i used to work at) part at the bottom instead of your actual permit #. i actually think it doesnt look half bad.......i still need to dial down the opacity on all the info. if you can tell it's a hair darker than the jj gavin part....it'll make it easier on the eyes

Well, I asked for some thoughts on the logo from my dad and a few others and it looks like this one might be a winner. We haven't come up with any other ideas so far. Might want to play around with this design a lil though, still putting thought into it all.
