Anyone good at drawing? I need something drawn...

Any other ideas? I haven't come up with any.

I'm thinking of going with the one I posted above, unless you came up with any different styles for me to review. I've been trying to decide if I should ask for a buckle on the hat or not. I also have been trying to decide on a background color and if the guy should be made smaller and the company name run full across.

I've been leaning towards a silvery grey color for a background, that way it will still grab attention but also match the colors of the truck. If you have any other ideas, feel free to suggest them.

Also instead of "Serving Butler, PA" I thought of just putting Butler, PA because I do work over three different counties around here. That way they know where I'm based out of. Then perhaps do something like "Quality since 1952" or the like. And put my PA license number - PA057659.

Here's some specs on the dimensions for the magnet. I'll probably order up some business cards and yard signs too since I'm almost out of business cards. I could probably just use the logo by itself for the business cards unless you want to design for that too. Thanks a ton for the help!

You can also go Here for specs on the magnets (if that doesn't work just go to http://www.vistaprint.com

Ouch! It's alright, I know how it goes, it's an extension of Murphy's Law, don't ya know? :icon_rofl:

I actually didn't have a computer monitor for a couple days, mom's monitor died and mine ended up replacing hers until the new one arrived. And my lappy I fear is pretty much dead. I'm suspecting that in addition to the NIC card being worn out and the battery completely dead that I have some combination of harddrive, motherboard, memory failure. Haven't got around to chasing the problem and not sure I want to bother, the thing is ancient.

When you get to it is fine, I don't want to rush you.

sounds good, should have it up and running today i hope. my laptop is ancient as well,(nowadays computers are ancient a week after you buy them.....lol) got it during fall semester of 2005. did great in college, but now something breaks every month it seems, not to mention a buddy of mine downloaded something and gave me a nasty virus. jackass.

i'll do a photshop/illustator render ASAP

Good luck with getting your comp up an going!

My lappy is older... I got it fall of 2001. IBM Thinkpad T-22 with a bunch of goodies. Pretty top shelf when I got it, used and abused (left it on pretty much 24/7) for about 5 years then used it a lil lighter for another 2 years until I built my desktop. In the first 5 years the only things that went bad was the original battery pack and the harddrive. Replaced both and the new battery pack didn't make 2 years before dying. The NIC card (the internal modem/ethernet) went so I could only connect to the net with a wireless card, so then I built my desktop - which I've done a few upgrades to since I built it. Figured I'd use the lappy as a backup but I'm not sure it's worth trying to fix at this point. About all it can handle is instant messenger chats anymore, lol.

I've reformatted both computers due to virii or other problems more times than I care to remember.

mine is an IBM as well, a T43P. my dad works for IBM and he gets a nice little discount on new PC's. mine was top of the line when i got it as well, but now the battery only lasts about 15 minutes without being plugged in and then these damn viruses.

i'm trying to persuade my wife to get a new desktop, maybe once i find a REAL job. i just found out today that i didnt get the job i interviewed for a few weeks back. not enough experience.....story of my life....lol.

Nice! When I can come up with the cash to spare, I think I'm gonna get another laptop, and it'll probably be an IBM/Lenovo. For as much abuse as my old one took, I'm inclined to stick with the same kind. When the virii get too bad on any of my comps, I just wipe the harddrive and start over. Of course, I do try to prevent it from getting that bad, I run Spybot Search and Destroy, AVG free anti-virus, use Firefox, Opera and Google Chrome for web browsing, and keep ruthless control over cookies and the like. It's not perfect but it seems to work.

I built my desktop for around a grand two years ago, I had a couple members on here and a few other forums I frequent give me advice on what to get. Then as I got extra money I upgraded a bit. Silencer 610 watt power supply, 2.2 ghz dual core Pentium, 4 gigs of memory (two matched pairs of Corsair), two SATA DVD burners with Lightscribe, CD burner, 3.5" floppy, Western Digital 250 gig HD, GeForce 8600gt vid card, etc. The only two things I've thought about still upgrading would be to get the 3.2 ghz quad core processor and a larger monitor.

I hear you on the job, except nobody would say exactly why they didn't hire me. I gave up and decided to go my own way. Which I enjoy because it gives me some freedom. Good luck with finding work though!

yeah, i wanna build a computer like that one day. all i really need is alot of memory to run the adobe creative suite and some of my render programs/3d molding programs. those IBM laptops can take some abuse.
my dad sent me an article about this company that was trying to figure out which computer company to go with. dell, hp and ibm were among the companies making presentations to get this company to buy there computers. dell and hp got up and did long powerpoint presentations on why the company should buy there machines. the ibm guy got up, did a 10 minute powerpoint, closed the laptop and dropped it 6 feet onto a tile floor, pick it up and turned it on without a problem. needless to say, the company went with ibm. lol

i've done more damage to mine putting it into my backpack than anything else.

I wanted to build mine this way because I play around with some photo/video editing. I'm certainly no photoshop genius, but I can do minor touch ups and stuff. And I can stitch photos and video. Of course, it had the side benefit of allowing me to play Call of Duty, lol.

I used to carry my IBM in my backpack, lol. I'd take notes on it in class. Or screw around on it in class if I understood what the teacher was talking about. I've heard that part of the case on mine is a titanium alloy.... no wonder it handles abuse, lol.

i almost had to have one when i was in school. we had a computer lab, but there was only like 30 for the entire school of industrial design and we had about 200 students. it was nice to be able to work from anywhere.

if you wanna play call of duty just buy and xbox. they're only $199 now, it'd be way cheaper.

I know what you mean, the one college I attended had a computer lab that was about 5 computers shy of the regular class size. Fortunately I could run all of the required programs from my laptop so I'd just work from that. Made it easier on everyone that way.

I have an original xbox, played it some in college when I had roomies, now it mostly collects dust. I wouldn't have even got COD 4 for my desktop if I wouldn't have stumbled across a sweet deal on it right after I built my computer. A guy bought it brand new, his new Dell desktop was supposed to meet the minimum requirements, but he said that his comp still just wouldn't handle it. So I got it for $20 still half in the packaging with the price sticker from Best Try. First computer game I ever really got into.

How ya making out 88_Eddie?

i'm still trying to salvage my files, i've been out on a job the last few days and havent had time to screw with it. my computer is all messed up, it wont recognize my USB ports so that i can move files. my dad is gonna look at it, but he's in atlanta for the next week, i'll let you know as soon as i get it taken care of, sorry about the wait.

It's alright, I know how things can go sometimes. Just keep me posted and good luck with getting your comp fixed. I actually have been doing a bathroom remodel, it's an hours drive away so I only came home for the weekend, been staying down there to save on gas.

ok, i couldnt fix the damn thing myself. it kept wanting me to reformat back to factory settings and i couldnt do that. i would've lost files from the last semester of college and all sorts of other stuff. dad has been in atlanta for the last couple weeks and hasnt been able to look at it. we're messing with it right now, plus he doesnt have to go back to atlanta until wednesday. SO, i should be able to have something for you at the end of the week....again, sorry for the wait
