As the title says anyone have any success in repairing one and how did you do it short of buying a $350 shifter ?

bschief,

What is broken?

29 years ago after installing a body lift, I lengthened my shifter. Years of use caused the little cup dogs to wear off.

Five weeks ago, while out for maintenance, somehow the shifter lower cup ball came up missing. I was lucky, just pulled a replacement from the wrecking yard.

Depending on what is actually wrong, there is room to repair some areas if you have the time.

This is not a Mazda transmission this is a Mitsubishi FM145 has a trapezoid shaped plastic mounting base to the housing. The shifters are obsolete and have been for years. I am looking to see if anyone has ever made an attempt at repairing these shifters. They get loose and you can rotate the shifter in the housing.
