this truck had a lot of aftermarket stuff, so idk if this is just a badge, or if it is a *special* edition

Never saw that badge before. But I'm no expert. All I know is that Ford added the Power stroke name to the 7.3l diesel when they modified it (added turbo?) In early 90's. My 1990 F350 was not powerstroke and I was under the impression that was the last year before the change. They are/were made by International.

That's all I think I know about that.

International/Navistar

It is an aftermarket emblem

The N/A 6.9IDI went from 83-87.
The N/A 7.3IDI went from 88-93.5.
The super cool turboed IDI 7.3 went from 93.5-94.5.
The 7.3L Powerstroke went from 94.5-03.

All were built by IH/Navistar.

The non-turbo IDI was available until '94.5 when the Powerstroke came out... the turbo was an option on the IDI.

The H left IH in '86. :icon_thumby:

Its still IH to me damnit.

There were a lot of guys that bought the Navistar Powerstrokes just because they said "International" on them.

If they could have gotten John Deere to make an engine for Ford trucks instead of the Scorpian heads would have exploded in both JD and IH camps.

"H" must have taken all the good engineers with them... We've had nothing but problems with our International trucks built in the past few years.
One of them had more miles from trips to the dealer, then "work" miles in its first year. I'm not exaggerating... we track mileage on every work order and run monthly and yearly reports.

LOL

Nope, they had a long and storied history of doing things the most bass ackwards way possible since the 50's.

Case owns IH now. At least when it comes to farm and construction machinery.
