I'm trying to identify the style of wheels and drums on an old equipment trailer a friend of mine bought, and I'm coming up empty. He thinks they're "Dayton" style hubs, like you see on trucks, but these have no clamps that hold the wheels on. I can get a pic later, but I'll try to describe them as best as I can.
The wheel is 15" with a large maybe 8" circle opening in the center. They have a 4x roughly 9" lug pattern. It uses lug bolts that thread into the drums, and the left side has left hand threads. The drums are 10" x 2.5" roughly and have 4 large fins starting about where the lug bolts thread into the drum and ending at the spindle bore. Inside the drum it's just like any other electric trailer brake, only it's about ~40 years old.
One of the wheels was replaced recently ( I say recently it was probably 20 years ago), the other looks original and is falling apart like it too. We are trying to find a replacement wheel, which has prompted the search for information.
Any help out there?
