I need to get a bit inspired by fresh ideas. My boy is getting 9 and I'm thinking of a gift. He's very energetic, outgoing and he's into racing. Looking for extraordinary ideas up to $300, thanks in advance!

Thanks everyone to join this thread, I’d like to leave some extra ideas for others. As one of you mentioned, we decided to buy a new balance bike that we found here https://www.evababygear.com/first-birthday-gift-ideas/ I know the topic is a bit irrelevant but there were some good birthday ideas like biking. You know, my buddy is doing well with his new toy so now we are thinking of level up with a scooter. For the next birthday I guess :) Thanks to all of you again!

Dirt bike, helmet, basic tool set and a set of ground rules for the above?

Don’t listen to me. I’m not a father.

I like to really sleep in sometimes :D

You didn't specify any particular racing, and although I know you did say 9 years old, I'm really not up to date these days as to what ages does or can do what, so here's something came to my mind,
I noticed at Wmart their little drones are pretty cool, and on clearance the prices don't look so bad either.
Also noticed on Saturday morning TV they often have drone racing shows.
Best I thought of, but then I didn't think very long, did check out a couple links for it through

A neat remote control car could be fun too.

9yo me would have loved a SCX10 but it is a crawler not a racer.

You can buy a stripped chassis and build what you want or you can modify a out of the box truck, they have a bunch of different bodies/wheels/tires/motors/axles/transmissions... basically like a real truck.

55yo me would have fun with that.

I have been wanting one for like 10 years... maybe someday. Waiting is paying off so far, they keep making them neater.

He's gonna be 9!? Get him a job application! :shout:

Mystery boxes seem to be a trendy thing these days. I like the idea of getting a surprise in the mail every month and will probably do this for my girls this year.

I guess I should have brought my 2 crawlers with me to the trail ride.
