So on my last trip, 14 hours on the trail, last hour on our way back, it started running rough and would loose RPM and die. Shut it off and restart it, it fires right off. Runs rough and will back fire messing with the throttle. It tends not to do it a low idle. But 4-5 gear it falls on its face… I had extra sensors, maf, bap, o2 sensors. Nothing has helped. I thought it might be the pip sensor in the distributor. Bought a DUI one, set base timing to 10* no change. Changed fuel filter. Fuel pump is less than a year old. TPS is set to .996. Fuel pressure is 40 psi.

I’m kinda at a loss. PCM? Or fuel system? Does this pcm look? Im nervous about the spot.

Definitely looks burned. Isn't A9L a mustang calibration?

yeah...manual stang. should be 26.5 deg timing all in.

you have run into why i say ms3... holley....haltech. i guess speeduino is getting going good too.

not worth running that old shit anymore if your goal is distance and reliability...and more important....availability when needed.

alot of times the wiring for the o2 sensors gets messed up and burns the board, the difference between manual and auto.... not sure what i have laying around for processors. i think i still have a speed density setup that is still in good shape.

maybe consider moving to eec5 and get some maf truck/van systems...2 or 3 spare processors. these are much more customizable in ability to modify tune and more common.

i think a good 500 cfm carb would get better fuel economy though...:):)

Yes, I’m 5.0 swapped. Yeah idk it doesn’t look good, it had a chip in it, I pulled out a few months ago, I thought the board looked funky then, but it was running good. So idk.

This is a pretty new Ron franchise early bronco harness, it was in very good shape but who knows tho.

I think im gonna go with a micro squirt, but like I said above a few months ago this had a chip in it, and I pulled it out, because it was running really rich and got horrible mileage. I thought the board looked funky then but it ran fine still. So I didn’t pay much attention to it.
