Antifreeze smell

I have been smelling antifreeze off & on. Yesterday I discover a 3/8" line coming off of my bottom heater hose. It wraps around behind my valve cover & there was some standing antifreeze there. Can someone tell me what this line is & where it eventually goes? Thanks Jim
