Ive got an '01 Ranger ext cab 3.0 auto (rwd) named Lucy. obviously, lacking on power. I like racecars, Ive got a truck,, Lets build a racetruck. I might build a frame someday but I have no intention of doing a "4x4 swap" (lol) and I don't have a machine shop and accompanying machines so the garage it is. I've been researching, like all the forums say, and I might be ready to ask some questions. Im just here to introduce myself, and ask you all to go easy on me, I am smarter than my questions may lead you to believe. I will be filtering through the forums to file my questions accordingly. You'll mostly find me in V-8 Engine Swaps or Mini Trucks.

Anyway, Send me a message if you know what Im doing, because I certainly do not.

2003 and earlier Rangers are good for V8 conversions

There are several Ranger V8 swap articles for different year Rangers, most use the 1996-2001 Ford Explorer V8(5.0l) and computer for this swap

Read all the articles even if not for your year as there are quite a few small things that can be avoided if you have ALL the info of problems that can come up

Thanks RonD! Ive seen you all over the forum, its an honor. This link is invaluable, I have a disgusting number of tabs open from it. I am going for a "bolt-on swap" with as little manufacturing as possible, So Ive got plenty of research to do.
