I got third in the drags. I'm not sure how I placed in the slaloms. 33 trucks showed up, about a dozen in my prolite class.

Today I got second in the drags and fifth in the slaloms, good enough for third place in my class.

A quick update;
I'm racing this coming weekend at Soks Pit, Edson, west of Edmonton. I've done nothing to my truck. But, I've fixed the steering in my '77 f250, done a bunch of modifications to my 18' carhauler to be able to be hauled behind the truck /camper, loaded the 11.5' camper [that I rebuilt several years ago and this is the first use since] onto the f250, and bought and fixed a 14' carhauler to be used for my renovation business. Tomorrow I will try to fabricate an e-brake handle for the racetruck and try to find some time to practice for the drags. Also need to load the camper and trailer with tools and food etc. Wish me luck at the races....

I had a great time at the races. This event was hosted by the "Edson Screaming Demons" 4x4 club, part of the "WORR series" in western Canada. I came in 4th overall in my class, just out of the money for the first time....Damn. I can only try to improve my reaction time in the drags as that was my downfall this weekend. My truck and I are capable as I beat the eventual winner but got knocked out because I redlighted 2 of the 4 times at the lights. In my last slalom run I landed hard and seperated a ground wire giving me a DNF. I will be going over the wiring and fixing any loose ones pronto. It was a great venue and very few hiccups which was also great as it was the Demons first time hosting an event. Job well done.

I've been doing some work on my truck for the last few days. As always I leave stuff to the last few days, as the races are next weekend. I took a pretty hard landing last race where I separated a ground wire. I also did some damage to the rear fenders. I decided to change the fender mounting to help prevent further damage.

As you see, I never painted anything when I first made this mount. I'll have more pics after the paint dries[emoji12]

Another project I did was to change my shocks. I picked up some procomp shocks at 4WheelParts, the series main sponsor, and finally mounted them. This meant disconnecting the rear spring mounts and shimming the frame 2 3/4" from the axle, the same amount the shock protruded from the housing
This made a fool proof way of making sure the shock wouldn't be completely collapsed before the rubber bumpstops are compressed.

I used some tube that I salvaged from a trailer jack. It happened to be the right inside diameter for these shocks. I cut out a side and then drilled for the shock bolts. Instead of using the supplied shims, I made mine from 1/2" pipe. I cut to the correct length and drilled the inside with a 1/2" bit. This meant I could use 1/2" bolts instead of whatever stock ones were meant for this shock application.

My rear bumper was really bugging me because it listed to the drivers side by an inch. I spent an hour removing all the bolts and cleaned some rust. I then remounted so its now level. Only esthetics but it makes me happy. It might even add some horsepower... Who knows lol.

In another thread I posted about a no start problem
It's running again though no knowledge why. Onto other things I need to look at. Last time I ran the truck hard I noticed the top rad hose collapse when I stopped. I'm changing the hose out for one with a spring inside, hopefully that solves the overheat problem.

I got to the track last night under cloudy skies. Today its pissing. Forecast is 1/2" rain today. Part of the track is an old clay oval....can you say goose shit?
