All I'm going to do is finally get the 4.56 gears in, the door Railman has for me, pop out the ext cab dent, headliner, the sliders! Then I'll call it done.
Since my Aunt & Uncle gave me WCB2, I'm not going to wheel it. It'll be for farm/home stuff; haul wood/hay, cut a road, lumber, bad weather, etc....

you gonna put bigger tires on it to fill those cut outs not you're not wheeling it?

With my old age, grandpaness, recently replaced hip, as much as I'll be in & out of it on the farm, NOPE. I do also have to put some longer travel shocks & new brake lines on it. Then I should be able to completely stuff the 33s up in there.
I have 2 75%-80% TSL Radials I run on the front, 2 100% Boggers for the rear & 2 30%-40% spare TSL Radials for it. Since I just dropped the coin on the new Boggers, I don't want to buy anymore tires for it. I also still run the BFG Mall Terrains on the road. The Swampers are for the fall, winter & spring on the farm, it gets soft & Dad'll kick my tail I go to chewing up the pasture. I should be able to crawl along better than his '89 Dodge 2wd cummins w/old man mud tires on the back. He's always getting stuck in the winter, so looking forward to the truck hauling the hay for feed in the bad seasons!

sounds good buddy! :icon_thumby:

Well I went to go get TX state inspection and was doing good until the guy pulled out the sniffer! He went looking for the exhaust, i told him it was under thecab. He hooked it up, fired it up, let it idle then went thru a series of revs and idles. I seen all kinds of flashing green & reds! Thought oh shit no cat, failing like hell! He unhooks it all, does some stuff on the test equipment and then he's slapping a sticker on the windshield! I paid my bill, got my emissions printout & asked how bad it really was. He said there's the printout, it passed, if you're any kind of motorhead you'll know what it says! Also, one of the best running engines I've had in here in a while. Looked at the sheet, over 40,000 HARD miles on Steve's build and running like a champ!
So in talking with Steve, it's getting the fender flares removed, some rolled edges, new bumpers & winch mount, along with a fresh metal flake purple paint job after we finish all the roof work & paint on his '60 apache 2 ton flatbed!

Good to know you was able to get it without reverse modification needed :icon_thumby:

The truck is still going. Been towing a boat, running motorcycle parts, hauling lumber and yard work stuff.
Been busy on this and that since retiring to Texas. Truck needs some work, after a lack of maintenance and tons of miles. But I been on this project to get my HD running that has been down for about 10 years.
1949 Panhead running strong!

What's bada$$ John is the motor is mostly 64 years old and it starts on 1-2 kicks, every time.
On another note; The ranger has developed a miss when I first crank it up. I changed the plugss to some autolite APP105, put new plug wires on, still does it, just not as bad. If I sit long enough it will clear up, 2-4 mintues. Whether hot or cold doesn't matter and it's not consistant. I've also got a drop in mileage of about 1- 1.5 MPG. So today I decided to finally change the fuel filter, never been done since I've had it, over 100,000 miles. I unlugged the fuel cutout switch and crank the motor till it won't try to start no more & then a few more times to relieve fuel pressure! So here I go under the truck, new fuel filter, screwdriver, a ratchet for the bracket, a clamp tool for the fuel lines because I can't remember if it's the ones with the plastic clips or with the spring things (didn't even think to look in the new filter box to remind myself), a pair of safety glasses because I KNOW some gas is going somewhere & I don't want it in my eyes. It's so nice to have a lift and 33"s so I don't need to jack!
All's going well, got the bracket loosened up, the clamp off, filter pulled out, little plastic clips off. Ready to pull the lines off, safety glasses on, grab filter and line, turn my head real far so even with safety galsses on I don't think I'm getting any in my eyes. Give it a tug and wouldn't ya know it, yuup, I got splashed! Just a little in my eyes but OM friggin blippity blippty bleep bleeep WTF holy Hell is that writhing pain like someone hit me in the left ear with a 20 lb sledge hammer!!! I've been stabbed, shot, sliced, diced, blown up with IEDs, a hip replaced, passed kidney stones in a urinal so they sound like a .22 lr going off! But I've never felt anything in the world feels like gasoline in the ear canal.
O can tell ya this, the old man with a hip replaced who jsut recieved 70% disbaility rating can move like lightning with an ear canal full of gas!!! Flushed and flushed with water. It was over 4 hours ago, I still can't hear worse than any time after an IED attack! And just go figure, it's my supposed good ear!!!
So just to warn everyone out there, changing a fuel filter, wear some ear muffs, wrap your head in duct tape, or lossen ewverything up and then kneel beside the truck reaching under so it can't happen because gas in the ear is HELL on earth!!!

Oh, got it all back together, cut out switch plug back on, started it back up. And yuup still got the miss. I can rev it up, it still misses, I can accelerate, it still misses. If I accelerate in 1st flooring it, it'll miss then jump right out of the miss and be smooth at about 2000 rpm. I'm wondering if the front seal leaking behind the harmonic balancer coating the sensor down there in oil and grit is affecting it. I have the seal and a new harmonic balancer on the way as the old one has a burr on it. I already changed the seal once, tried to emory cloth the balancer and then buff on my buffer, but it started leaking again.
Anybody got any tips???

I'm sorry Jay, but I just had to laugh after reading it....:D:D

shoulda been up here...then ya coulda had Rick do it:icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

that is the only way to make sure you get 0 gas on ya.....:icon_rofl::icon_rofl:

as for the miss, any idea what cylinder it might be???

to be honest, I'm not for sure what could be causing it....since you already did everything I woulda done:dunno::dunno:
