LOL....
I couldn't agree more, but yes, it will work. (but.....for how long.....?)
EDIT: oh yeah...as long as the donor truck is also a 4X4
yea donor truck is 4x4, but i seen in the tech library that in 92 they went to a electric overdrive so i guess that would be one of the problems.
its not for me, its for farrelx from njmud trucks, his friend is asking me, he has same truck as me, lifted 8inches. truck dont shift, its just stuck in gear and he has a 92 parts truck
.well, id suggest the same thing for him, 5spd swap is the most reliable route and hell have alot more power with those stock geared axles lol
really.....if he just plans on selling it then ya, toss in the auto, but if he wants to keep it stick is the only way togo
.
thanks to both of you for answering, do you guys know if and newer rangers (95-05) autos will work if he replaces the computer and everything?
Sounds like WAY too much work just to have an auto.
AFAIK, the computers for the newer trannys are not a "stand alone" setup. While you may be able to swap in the ECU and wiring, it will not work with your older 4.0.
damn this kid has no luck! thanks for the help fellas, what model trucks or trans should i look for
90-94 4.0 out of a Ranger or Explorer.
I take it the one from the donor truck did not work out?
we didnt even try because you guys said it wont even work properly.
