Been looking at the tech library and stumbled upon this: airintake.htm . In theory would this be the same as buying an aftermarket cold air such as this k&n intake? (assuming i buy a k&n filter of course)

ya i took take plan an i got a intake tube out of an explorer cuz its doesnt have thoes little baffle things in to then i make pretty much the same thing in the tech lib but out o metal painted it black and put a 45 on it to tuck up and away type thing works good.

Has anyone else done this yet? I want to give it a try, but i am a little confused on some of the directions. I get the whole thing up to the attaching the assembly back in the motor. what i dont get is what happens then. anyone care to explain or have some pictures of the next steps?

Thanks
