I have a 99 ranger 4x4 stepside,I replaced the blend door actuator because my a/c would switch from dash vents to defrost vents whenever it chose to as well as what I now realize was the actual air door rattling furiously at times, now a/c only comes out of defrost vents,I ordered a new air door because I figured it may have a broken pivot point,so I"M WONDERING if anyone knows how to access the air door without removing the dash or cutting the box ? THANKS

I saw a YouTube video of a guy that cut a hole in thebottom of the EVAP case and changed the door.

yeah I saw that too,,trying to avoid cutting tyvm

Remove the dash then...

Not sure you wl have a choice.

might not ,just checking on options

So the dash has to come off... Where do you recommend buying the blend door motor? If I have to do all that work I want to get it from a reliable source. My 1996 blend door is jammed and I only have heat available... Is there apossibility to swap in an older mechanical HVAC system? I have a 1996 XLT
