Hey guys, sounds like my A/C fan on my '97 Ranger is dying... any idea how difficult it would be to replace? I assume that involves removing the dash but I have never done that before so I would need a bit of guidance... thanks in advance! = )

The AC fan on your truck??? If it is a 97, there is only one fan that moves air inside the cab of your truck. Look under the hood, passenger side firewall. Remove 3 screws, unplug, and replace.

If it is another fan, such as an electric radiator fan, I don't know what it would take to replace it, because it is not standard equipment.

Thanks for the info... shows how much I know (lol)... I've just started trying repairs myself.

Another easy project... slightly more complicated in my case, but just barely. For anyone searching in the future, I also had to detach my windshield washer fluid resevoir/coolant reservoir to make enough room to pull the blower motor and fan wheel out. I had been having an on and off noise coming from the fan for some time, sounding like paper rubbing on the fan, and found out what it was- leaves! There were quite a few in there, so I pulled them all out, no more noise

Thanks again for the guidance, it is greatly appreciated!
