Air Bag-Blower Problems after the lift

I'm having a problem with the blower motor working after I installed a 3 inch body lift on my manual 98 4X4 Ranger 3.0. I'm sure it's my fault, but unsure how to fix it. The air bag light is now on continuously. I've pulled the fuses and checked them. I can hot wire the blower motor, but I was hoping for an easier solution. Any suggestions?

Yo,
My first thought is that a wire got pulled when you lifted the truck. Maybe near the air bag sensors?

You didn't by chance let the column spin while you had the steering shaft disconnected did you. If so you will need a new clock spring installed (The part inside the column that connects the air bag to the rest of the truck). I have no idea what might have happened to the blower motor though. Usually blower motor problems in an RBV are at the resistor. Start by looking there.

Column

Well, I'm sure the column is a little out of place. I had to jiggle it some to align the two back together. I think the airbag and the blower are on the same circuit. Thanks guys I'll start there.

carful messing with that stuff, i dont think you want to trip the airbags and have em deploy.

I kinda thought that the hardcore 4x4 guy would want the airbags already deployed so they wouldn't discharge during heavy offroading. Has anyone tried that and just cut them out? It decreases the street value, but it may save your face and rib cage.

air bags are a hell of a lot smarter than you would think. they arent gonna go off from 4 wheeling, and if they do, youre gonna want them to. IF you decide you feel safer wheeling without, take a trip to the dealer and have them install a switch for it. turn it off when you wheel and turn it back on when you are done.

I dont mean this in any offense, but with just a 3" body lift(Assuming thats the extent of mods on your truck) your probably not a hardcore 4x4 guy. I might be wrong but just saying if you drive this thing daily youll probably want them.

You're right. I'm not hardcore, but I thought if I sold the truck in the future, the guy who got it wouldn't care if the airbag was blown. Guess I was wrong. The truck also came with a factory 4 inch suspension lift. So it's getting pretty high up there. It's going to be more for looks. This is the picture that inspired me:

I wouldn't take a chance with the airbags. to much of a life saving piece of machinery... This has to blow at the right second or else it kills you instead of saving you. I say go to your dealer and explain what you did, they will find a solution

edit : That's one nice ranger!

You may also want to check and see if you disturbed a crash sensor doing the body lift.
Also, check and make sure you have all your grounds hooked back up
