Aftermarket Gauges

I have a 1995 3.0 4x4 and i am wondering if I can just replace the sending units on the oil and water temp or will that mess with the computer by unhokking the stock gauges? if replaceing them is not an option then where can i add a sender for the water temp? any help is appreciated thank in advance.

Adaptors for water temp and oil pressure are readily available. I've used units from Glowshift for my current two trucks. Oil pressure uses and sanwhich adaptor at the oil filter. Water temp uses an adaptor spliced into a radiator hose.

I would just leave the factory gauges, warning indicators and sending units alone... will work just like you did nothing... but now have aftermarket gauges to boot.
