ABS LIGHT ON hardly any brake pedal

If there were air in the system... the pedal would always be low. It's not something that would be fine this time and not fine the next the brake pedal is applied.

The only thing I've ever seen that will allow the brakes to work fine this time and go to the floor the next is a master cylinder.

My impression from the OP was that the brakes varied between bad and worse.

If sometimes they're decent and randomly bad, I've seen master cylinders do that too. I just didn't want to go there as a first step but it's definitely a strong possibility.

I also agree about getting the codes if possible. Anything with a computer, it's always a good first step, it just takes a pretty good scanner to get the ABS codes. The brake adjustment and a quick bleed I figure are cheap and easy if the codes aren't readily available.

While that is true... the customer shows up saying my brakes are pulsing. Not my pedal is low.

What is your first complaint to the mechanic going to be, remembering you just had the crap scared out of you?

That could go either way, really. There seem to be a lot of people these days who would probably ignore the pulsing brakes, hoping it will go away because they assume its expensive and they don't want to pay. The other half are oblivious as long as they get from point A to point B without running out of gas. There are too many people on the roads today who don't pay attention to their vehicles condition until its way too late. So they end up with a wrecker taking the car to the shop on their behalf because "I don't know. I was just driving to the store and it didn't stop." Now it needs brakes, fenders, hood, headlights, grill, front suspension parts (which are wore slap out, too.), etc.
