I have a 1994 Ranger with the A4LD auto transmission and would like to do a COMPLETE fluid change,
first I would take the pan off and that would drain off about 3 quarts,
then install a new filter,
then reattach the pan & new gasket,
then disconnect RETURN line going to the transmission from the cooler and
then add hose to a bucket with NEW fluid,
then disconnect hose going to the cooler from the transmission-- put that hose into an empty bucket to catch the OLD fluid being pushed out
start engine -- let the new fluid be sucked in and the old fluid be pushed out
Is that the idea??
Total capacity for the A4LD is 8 to 9 quarts??
Thanks.
