So... I'm a bit bummed...

After school was driving home and some girl from my school didnt stop at a stop sign and took a really sharp left hand turn as i was turning right. Nothing at all i could do, she didnt check my direction for cars untill she decided to go. So i hit her, not exactly sure how fast we were going.. But i was going slow enough to make a righthand turn with snow on ground. lol

Her little 2000 neon is f'ed up, probably totaled off. My truck has the front driver side smashed in. Looks to me (keep in mind i dont know much about these), to be only the bumper, fender, lights, grill, etc damaged. Wasnt going too fast so the frame i would think should be good still. Her car was seriously messed up tho, way worse than mine. Didnt have a camera other than my phone to take pics with there, but i hit her front drivers side and her hood and everything is screwed even on the passenger side. I almost went up the hood... Felt it go up then back down after the acssident so im happy i wasnt going any faster.

It isnt my fault and she was truthful and nice about it. Sweet little girl... i felt real bad for her... She was in tears. No injuries, just the shoch of her baby getting smashed and it being her fault. :/ I left out the part of her not stopping fully for the stop sign, didnt see a need to make things worse for anyone. She did slow down, if anything this will make her ALOT more cautious.

I was able to drive it home after pulling the bumper back out so it barely rubbed. This sucks because i was JUST about to buy a JD lift from someone on here, was just waiting for the paypal to get the cash. :bawling: Its an old truck with 292XXXkms on it... So it looks like they might just total it off on me. Really a shame cuz i love this thing...

Heres some pics of my truck.

Oh and i think i forgot to mention her car was towed away. Cops were called and he gave me some panflet with how to file a claim to SGI. Never been in this situation so i have no clue what to do. Guess ill call and be like "my trucks brokeded... FIX IT!" :icon_twisted:

that sucks, glad everybody involved is ok.

if they total it just buy it back for cheap and rebuild it, doesnt look too bad. simple enough

Well good that both of you are ok :icon_thumby:

It doesn't look to bad from the pics you posted.

looks llike all you need is a fender, light bucket, light assembly and bumper, maybe have to straighten out the core support. too bad your not closer, i have extras of all those.

Fixable, definitely.

I've repaired WAY worse than that.

Ya it freakin sucks tho... If i buy it back i would have to pay for all that crap myself right? Meaning for no reason at all i would need to spend however much cash myself to fix it. And i cant do it myself, no skills. Guess ill hope things at least work out. Hopefully i wont need to pay the stupid 700 deductible cuz i dont have cash lol.

x2 i was gonna say if you were closer id give you all the parts you need to fix it so you can get that lift you want. i hope it all works out for you and you get to keep your truck. she is pretty deadly

Thanks, i apreciate the thought guys. Now i gotta figure out this stupid reprort a claim crap. No idea what im doing lmao.

I know the damage isnt too bad... But idk if it will outweigh their estimate of what the trucks worth. I know i was quoted by a autobody shop that to get new boxsides would cost "More than the truck is worth" lol.

Makes me sad seeing those pictures. fuuuuuuuuuuuug

you don't have to pay a deductible when the other guy's insurance is paying.

that said, if they try to total it, buy it back and fix it with the money they give you.

Anyone know where i can get a REALLY big band-aid for my truck? :icon_rofl:

Sucks... ever the light on the other side is pushed out a bit as well as the grill. Must have been the bumper pushing it upwards and breaking the little plastic peices lol

Really? So she will pay the deductable and they will either fix my truck for free (for me anyways), or give me a few hundred bucks and total it?

If totaled they will buy your truck from you at their estimation of the truck's market value. You are usually given the option to repurchase the truck at 10% of settlement value, and then you can keep the rest of the money and put it into fixing the truck.

There are some members not too far from you who do have the skills to help you fix it. I'm not all that familiar with Canada, but I think Mike and Nathan are fairly close to you.
