A very... very... sad turn of events... :/

that works.

lmao well as long as the truck gets done. I think a sober hand would be better for fixing it though... :P

I think bog welds a bit straighter with a beer or two in him.

Don't forget an ample supply of profanities. Those come in handy for those stubborn bolts and sharp edges.

And for when you forget where you put a tool. Or a part. Or lose a bolt down the drain. Or when you are frustrated.

Also, a couple good lighters, some gas, and a zippy hole are required for any big job.

is it just me or does it look like its toed out on the right side a tad bit? look at the first pic

Glad you're OK man. It could have been worse for sure! :icon_thumby:

One thing for sure, I've seen some RBV's take a good lickin' and keep on tickin'. I got rear ended by a brand new (then) 2004 Durango that was going 40mph in my 91 Explorer. It tore the hell out of her Durango, it needed all new lights, grille, bumper, etc. My Explorer just needed the handle for the window/door and also when she hit me my fat ass broke the drivers seat. :nopityA:

Oh, and by the way, you need Cooter Davenport to fix that!

Sorry to hear about your truck man, I knew as soon as I saw the title... It is good everything is ok though. As far as the claim, you have to phone them, and make a report. Then they set up a time with you to have an appraisal done, at which point you will be informed "total loss"... but you can definately buy it back and fix her up! Yep Nathan is here in 'Stoon, and I am as well.

I'd definately be up for giving you a hand by the way, my tools and skills are limited compared to others on this site, but with enough love for your truck anything is possible :headbang:

So... I'm a bit bummed...

After school was driving home and some girl from my school didnt stop at a stop sign and took a really sharp left hand turn as i was turning right. Nothing at all i could do, she didnt check my direction for cars untill she decided to go. So i hit her, not exactly sure how fast we were going.. But i was going slow enough to make a righthand turn with snow on ground. lol

Her little 2000 neon is f'ed up, probably totaled off. My truck has the front driver side smashed in. Looks to me (keep in mind i dont know much about these), to be only the bumper, fender, lights, grill, etc damaged. Wasnt going too fast so the frame i would think should be good still. Her car was seriously messed up tho, way worse than mine. Didnt have a camera other than my phone to take pics with there, but i hit her front drivers side and her hood and everything is screwed even on the passenger side. I almost went up the hood... Felt it go up then back down after the acssident so im happy i wasnt going any faster.

It isnt my fault and she was truthful and nice about it. Sweet little girl... i felt real bad for her... She was in tears. No injuries, just the shoch of her baby getting smashed and it being her fault. :/ I left out the part of her not stopping fully for the stop sign, didnt see a need to make things worse for anyone. She did slow down, if anything this will make her ALOT more cautious.

I was able to drive it home after pulling the bumper back out so it barely rubbed. This sucks because i was JUST about to buy a JD lift from someone on here, was just waiting for the paypal to get the cash. :bawling: Its an old truck with 292XXXkms on it... So it looks like they might just total it off on me. Really a shame cuz i love this thing...

Heres some pics of my truck.

if she is sweet and pretty then you should call this girl and tell her she owes you dinner to make up for killing your baby. some positive could come out of this

Including the conception and execution of some stupid, hair-brained scheme to go off and get a degree in automotive technology just for the purpose of keeping said truck alive.

Lmao good ideas!

I filed my claim online on their site and have an apointment on the 22nd of this month to get it apraised. So How does a "total loss" thing work? Think theres any chance of me at least breaking even after all the work? :/

Yeah there is. A lot of people I know that have bought back "totaled" vehicles and done the repairs themselves actually come out ahead once the repairs are finished.

What part you looking at? I know the lights and stuff are pushed out a bit on the passenger side as well, and we had to pull the bumper out as much as we could so i could drive it home. The cop didnt seem to care about the situation much lol Got the neon towed, but looked at my truck and figured it was ok to drive cuz with the wheels straight i had less than a half inch between the bumper and tire. Since turning the wheel was rubbing bad me and my dad pulled as much as we could :P.

I did look more closely at the picture after you said that and did notice that the wheels seemed to point out a it, if thats what u meant? lol Like ive said, i dont know much about this stuff. Is there something i can check first before i buy it back and find out its gonna take alot more than they give me to fix it?

hehe... i was telling my dad it would have been nice if i got hit in the box lmao I have a dent in the side and rust thru the wheel wells :P

Oh well, next time i guess :icon_rofl:

I kind of doubt they'll total it. I grew up in SK, got rear ended in a 92 Explorer and there ended up being frame damage, and a cut tire. It was covered by SGI. :dunno:

I can hope for that. I've just been told by everyone that it will most likely be total lossed because its so old. Not to mention it had 292XXXkms on it, altho it runs like a dream and never has even stalled on me (Besides learning standard on it lol). But a couple other people said they might not because it has stuff like 4x4 that makes it worth more, but those are people like my mom lol. :P
