a little much?

I'd pay that if everything worked.

my mom has a nicer one than that
she'll probably sell it too if anyone is interested?
its a 93 convertible 5.0 stick 45,000 miles mint condish
all white, maroon dash and carpet, white leather seats
all original

aero noses are about that much for the same condition... i've never been a fan of the 4 eye front end, or interior... plus with red interior :( and those sn95 rims look like ass on an early fox

i wouldn't pay it, i would say 6000 max

*edit* ^^ is a much nicer car! the 3 spoke ponies actually look right on it...

i saw that next to one of the stores that i service for my job. they have a caddy for sale that is a 88 for $12,000

Yeah, they're a little proud of that. I'd give about 3500 tops for that. Red interiors really make my mind reject a vehicle anyway, so that plays part in my thoughts.

alright, see that car has alot going for it, its a 84, which between 84 and 85(last year for carbed) actually put out more power then the H.O roller motors that followed, if its in mint condition with no rust and since its a actual gt350 from 84 its probably to a collector worth the asking price. if someone looked up productions numbers i believe opnly more then a thousand of those mustangs were built

but foxbodys have been going redic with there prices, why do some people think there 92lx 4cyl car with a 86t-bird v8 is worth 4k with NOTHING done, id rather have the 4 headlight front end anyday,

Yeah, I see your point. But the GT350 was only a cosmetic package. Granted, there were only 5,261 total made (can't find an official number on convertibles), but it's still stickers and such. This is why I would defer on the chance at this, and I'd pass on a 7-UP car for this very reason as well.

BTW, the 84 5.0 only had 175hp. The 85 5.0 had 210hp, and the 86 was 200hp, but the 87 was 225hp. The 86 had the fast burn swirl heads, which improved torque. Luckily Ford switched back to the old truck style heads (E7TE casting) in 87 to improve flow and a 25hp increase.

I love them all (mostly 82 and up), 4 and 2 eyes. My favs of the 4 eyes are definitely the 85 and 86 GT (I've owned one of each). I prefer the EFI 86 of the 4 eyes though.

I agree, the prices of these things are SOARING here. This is why I have mine in getting restored right now. You can't touch a decent 87-93 GT for under 5 grand right now. I've seen them as high as 12 grand in the past 3 months. Watching these prices really got my ass in gear to get mine back in shape.

factory numbers are bullshit from ford in the 80's that was still in the gas crisis era kinda sorta so they really made there cars look more "fuel friendly" but just a quick adjustment on the carb, change the timing and a exhaust(which doesnt count) had my buddies car dyno at 232 (85 gt 100k miles).

unfortunatly thats about the going rate for these cars now, i was lookin at buying a fox body, but i decided against it, i bought a 1990 Lincoln Mark VII LSC instead, itll eat a stock 5spd gt alive. the only time ive had it at the track i put down a 13.76 which is VERY impressive for original motor at 147k miles and a trans with mild shift kit and stall converter lol. i still get looks when i slamn it into second and the car slides sideways LOL

that saleen is pretty damn nice lol

When I was looking for my mustang up here fox bodies were advertised between 6-7000 and 14,000 depending on condition and mileage... I lucked out and got mine for 2300...

As for the gt and gt 350 packages they were both cosmetic, the 5L lx is faster than the gt because of 2-300lbs in ground effects, plus the gt did not come in coupe, only hatchback and convertible (add 300 lbs for hatchback and an additional 400 for convertible [on top of gt kit weight])

Mine is an 89 5L lx hb and pulled 14.2 in the quarter with a very tired motor (head gasket went on me 3 days after that run)

Hello

I love my 88 5.0l Stang. The only mod so far is 93 GT cobra ECM that I bought from Ford about 14 years ago. It was in my 86 T-Bird. It has no rev or speed limiter on it.

igiveup

um... 88 is a speed density car, 93 is MAFS, i hope you added a MAF sensor...

you realize the cobra isn't a cobra right? just a canadian gt?
