So I was driving home from work doing 55 mph and a turkey slammed into my drivers side window shattering it and leaving its dead headless body in my lap. I have never done any window replacement. So I need some tips or hopefully a walk through(if youre feeling generous) for taking a window out and putting a new one in. Thank you

It isn't hard to do, especially if the window is already broken.

Take the door panel off, get the felt around the track down, and then get the remains of the glass detached from the regulator and it should just lift out. Might have to tip it forward a bit.

I'm sure someone from the forum would be willing to help you for, maybe, a nice turkey dinner.

Sorry... I had to.

but its not even thanksgiving. wheres the stuffing?:icon_rofl::D

replacing window should be fairly straight forward...

First, every time a bird hits my window I win money...honest~!

Second...like everyone says, it is fairly easy...

Third...nah, never mind...that's gross even for my liking...

Find a Pick And Pull nearby that has the needed glass.

Practice on their vehicles removing all the parts including the glass.

Once you have a good replacement glass and the needed steps, tackle yours.

Had a friend who was driving her company van when she hit something destroying the windshield. She was required to call her boss and fill out an accident report. She stated in her report; I was driving down Rt 5 heading to Williamsburg when I hit a flying fish, destroying the windshield. The boss didn't think it was funny since she was in the vicinity of a fish hatchery. He was taking the thing way too seriously. What she had written was actually the truth. She had hit a fish flying down to earth that an eagle had dropped. That's the story.

I used to work in a body shop and replaced plenty of windows. It usually isn't that difficult. The biggest problem will be getting the bottom part of the window out of the track. It's usually glued with an epoxy. The rest is pretty straight forward.

Some are, but Ford is not known for using that method. On a Ranger odds are good that it is riveted to the regulator.
