The unit I worked on was a split system dx condenser hooked to a 15 or 20 ton multi-zone air handler in a library.3 condenser fans,1 copeland compressor and a Desuperheater setup. All the control wiring was red![]()
not sure how they did it back then, but now we use white for neutral and red for anything else - Meaning 230V control circuits will all be red. That may have been what you saw.
It had hot gas bypass for low ambient/low load conditions. It was maybe from late 70's early 80's.And my personal favorite,Pneumatic controls for control of dampers and solenoids.
pneumatic controls, eh? That must have been something we quit doing, 'cause I haven't seen it on anything that's gone through in recent years.
Actually, a coworker is working on a project where the customer actually spec'd a pneumatic water regulating valve for the water cooled condenser. First time I'd seen one.
