hey guys I'm thinking about doing a disc conversion on my ranger and I've heard rumors that the brackets and calipers on a Lincoln town car fit a 9in. Have you done this? What's your opinion?

I don't think its easy as bolt in, theres small and big bearing 9", the Lincoln 9s were big bearing and use a different bolt spacing on the flanges.

I'll sell you a complete bolt in Versailles 9" with discs with 4.56 for $1000.

holy shit batman lol....thats ALOT for a 9"

that aint that bad a price considering that an axle housing will run you 700 plus new plus axles are another 2-300 plus a center section for another couple hundred plus 200 for gears plus more if he has a limited slip or locker plus another hundred for the parts to set it up plus labor if you have a shop set it up

Toxic- oh ok I should have expected something like that. I don't need the axel you got. I've already got one built. It's just got a open dif with drum breaks.

Lol I was joking aboput selling it. Its my pride and joy. You're best bet is to buy a conversion kit. Caipers are very hard to come by for the lincoln rears. Unless you can rebuild the ones from the donor, don't do a junyard swap.

Ok thanks for the info bud I apreciate it!:icon_cheers:

Can't you just weld a caliper bracket on the axle?

I suppose you could weld some on but I like being able to un bolt stuff and what I'd it rips off or tears the housing then I'd be screwed until I could get to a welder
