I just finished putting everything back on and it feels pretty good not having to worry about loss of power steering at low rpm.
I bought a proquipped bracket and installed a 2006 corvette ps pump. Was easier said than done because I ran into the problem of the 16mmtype 3 swivel o-ring and 16mm type 3 Long swivel o-ring. I have no idea how it works. Seems to be an internal o ring bubble flare but I have no clue how they’re made/ assembled.
So since the pump had the inlet on the top, I extended the high pressure by getting a ford escort ps line.female to male swivel oring. I think this was a mistake because it made the pressure sensor port in the middle of the line instead of near the pump.
I drove with no power assist for 6 months.
I had to blip the throttle to turn at low speeds.
Now I bought a 30inch hydraulic hose made at a nearby shop for 50$ with 2 90 degrees going opposite directions , I put the original inlet which was 16x1.5 oring to 6an on the pump side then bought a female 6an to male 6an with a 1/8 npt port for the ps assist sensor. For the rack connection I ground of the tube part on a 16mm x 1.5 fitting so it resembled the type 3 long swivel o ring. Then I put an o ring at the top of the base of the threads and tightened till it smushed. I used a vacuum hand pump to bleed the system.
I bought an 06 jeep wrangler pump also but i think it failed. The cap for the reservoir seemed to not have a vent hole and when I took the cap off it would release pressure. The 06 corvette pump reservoir had a vent that would spew atf out if it was overfilled.
I still have to shorten the ps pump bolts. They were 3 stainless 5/16. I’m running atf+4. Much quieter than the stock pump. I think anyone could do this swap if they had a vice and bought those an6 kits on cramazon. The pump was around 60$ the adapter was around 85$ the line was around 55$ the fittings were around 40$

Forgot to mention the ford style pumps and Saginaw pumps need a ps reservoir connection kit. The Saginaw style kit was “OEM tools part number 27311” and the ford style reservoir connection I lost somewhere but I will measure them both with pictures

I’m having issues with cooling now. Not a big deal but I need a fan and cooler kit with an inline thermostat to kick the fan on at a certain temp. The pump is quiet for about 15 minutes then it gets a little noisy , not nearly as noisy as the original pump. The power steering feels great, very responsive and not TOO responsive. I’ll post on here when I do that

I also 3d printed a v belt alignment tool. Some guy on YouTube had the file and it uses a 5.56 laser bore sight(10$) from eBay/amazon. I know I’m pointing it at the idler pulley but you get the picture. Beats paying 100+ for the this kinda tool.

Sorry it didn’t upload last message
