99 ranger face lift

Finally got my transmission in a couple days ago. I decided I am just going to do this project right where he sit. So far I have both drive shafts out, the shifter cable out, the manual transmission ECU swapped and the clutch pedal assembly installed. I worked all day just trying to get the clutch pedal installed and then worked on the Buggy till one in the morning. So I'm taking a brake today and start Monday evening on taking the Tranny out.

how heavy are those trannies? wonderin if replacing my clutch in my own garage is doable.

Very doable. I can pull my tranny and put it back in, by myself, in the gravel, in about 2 hours.

i did it the day after i broke my knee in a leg brace. its easy.

I carried the tranny across the yard, across the driveway and into the shed. About 500lbs. It was ruff.

I have two cases so it was probably around 700lbs. All I really know is it took two arms instead of one like it usually does. lol.

When i did mine theres no way it was that heavy. I took it out with tcase on but had to take the tcase off to put it back in.

My samurai with the toyota transmission and dual cases wasnt fun...

Yeah, now that I think about it, I think 300 is probably an over estimate for the manual tranny and tcase. I wish I was home so I could weigh my extra one....

Ok Ok... 100lbs maybe. Without the tcases.

Haha thanks for the replies. (Sorry to thread jack). Clutch, flywheel, and a new slave all I need?

Pick up the clutch today. All I need now is clutch fluid res and a new starter. Oh yeah, and new exhaust from the manifold back.

Where is your clutch fluid res mounted? On the master cylinder? Mind taking a picture for me so I can mount mine in the correct spot?
