My 16yr old sons 99 ext cab has the 60/40 in it now but is so far gone he cant drive it we need to replace them. Problem is the side parts for tilting back forward and back are broken underneath. Are there any seats that will mount to these tracks that wont requier that lever to adjust and the belts will connect? Ive seen some buckets on Ebay but dont really know.. Trying to find some kinda seats that we can just bolt right on to these tracks and it work but not sure thats possible due to that broken mechanism.. I can fix my computer but stare stupidly at my cars...:icon_confused:

Junk Yards are a great place to find replacement seats.

Typically you can pull whatever seats you like the look of from one car/truck, then go find a ranger and check how they line up in a Ranger

Yea we been lookin at the junk yards and cant find any that dont have nasty rips or grease all over them and Ive tried to buy just the tracks but they want me to buy the seats also.. Soo came the question about the broken adjustment levers.. I think they are not built into the tracks but built into the seat and therefore should just in theory be able to find some Explorer seats or something else from another vehicle not sure what though ( not sure years that will match up ) and bolt right onto the tracks.. Im trying to figure this out before I go and buy what apears to be a stupid anti tamper tool for getting the tracks off and we tear into taking it all apart.

The lumbar adjust levers are not part of the sliding seat track but part of the seat cushion frame, you are correct about that.

As for finding belts that connect, don't worry about that so much. It is a fairly simple matter to swap the receivers from one seat to another. As long as the existing ones are ok, just reuse them.

Also, Explorer seats are nice. I like mine.

Where are you located? Maybe a member is near you and has a set they'd sell.

Im in the Houston area.. West side by Katy

Ok found seats off an 02 Explorer.. They should mount right up to the Ranger tracks just fine right? Kinda plug n play so to speak?

Well 2002 explorer seats and slides dont match up.. Sooo ticked off.. The passenger seat did so I bought them. But the driver seat does not.. What the heck... It is to short front to back.. 75 dollar lesson learned...
