I,m contemplating on replaceing the two piece driveshaft in my 97 Ranger,5spd manual 2wd. with a one piece shaft out of a 98+ model. I,m. trying to eliminate a driveshaft vibration. The truck at its stock riding height. Anybody else attempted this before? I read the tech article about the one piece swap for 4x4 on this website. It mentioned something about possible floor mods needed when doing this on a 2wd. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well I picked up a one piece shaft out of a 2000 Ranger & installed it, no problems. What a difference! Got rid of the buzzing in the floor at 40 & at 70. No more rumble on decell. Well worth the $90.00 for the shaft!

Did you know the weld to weld distance?
I wanna do it on a 94 3.0 auto,ext cab ,2wd.
But i dont know what size i need.

Seeing as how this thread is about 3 years old....I doubt he will be back to answer that question for you. You would need 98+ shaft from an extended cab 2wd truck. They will be all the same length.

Sweet!
