Bought a pretty clean lil 98 4.0 Auto, hae had it @ a month and am haing transmission issues, dropping out of OD, Flashing OD light, hard shifting...etc
Looked and have seen many, many issues and causes.....called a couple of local shops I have used for auto trans builds and they told me they wouldn't touch the 5R55E, too many issues with them....
Well, I bought the 98 to replace a 97 that has been good, but need retiring. It has over 260K on it and is rotting away.
BUT it is a 5 speed manual.......
Wondering if the trans could be swapped into this truck?
ECU work?? Wiring harnesses? TCase same? What would be needed to get it done. I've done several car auto to manual swaps, but not a 4x4,
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
