I have a 97 ranger extended cab and the drivers side exterior door handle is floppy. It works as it should it's just that there is no resistance until the handle is almost all the way up, then it opens the door like normal. Is this a worn part or something to adjust. it only has 62,000 miles and is in great shape.

There's a little spring in there around one of the handle pivot hinges that probably snapped. Doesn't hurt anything, although you'll have to get another one at either the dealer or a junkyard if the loose handle bugs you (mine's been floppy for maybe 5 years now).

Mines floppy too... broke the return spring, and never bothered fixing it

I noticed that i can buy a new door handle in the LMC(LCM) catalog, would that part contain the spring and everything, it cost about $20 i think.

Yep, the spring is part of the door handle itself.
