If you expect the worst and hope for the best, you're already planning for failure.
So the other day while doing fog light install and removing a bunch of old wiring from an old stereo system (from before I owned it) I was doing a bit inspecting for future projects and found that when they put the seats in, they didn't bolt them down, they welded them in place. Now I'm in search of new front floor pans and am coming up with almost no good results. I have found pans for earlier models (first gen) and for even newer (third gen and up), just nothing exact for my year (1996 ext cab). I mean, I could just cut out at the point of the welds and try patch panels, but I would prefer to replace the whole pan for uniformity. Any one know of a good resource?

The best bet for stuff like that is LMC Truck. There may be others that body shops use, but LMC is the easiest to find.

Floor pans from 93-97 should all be the same. Quite possibly the same for 93-11 since the cabs really didn’t change much. Not sure if they would match earlier cabs. Ford did some weird things though like the bed floor stayed the same from 83-11. Just later ones got more bolt holes punched in them.

You're so right about LMC. I completely forgot about them. I need to do some digging there. Thanks

So did some research into LMC and what they show for floor pans only goes up to 92. So the search continues as they say.

That's the trick though, finding 93 - 97 floor pans. Almost everything I have found so far is for up to 92 or starting at 98. Not sure if I should be looking at the Mazda side of things, but I'm coming up empty trying to find what I need. Might just end up getting some sheet and using the hammer to make what I need. Idk at this point. The more I dig into this truck, the more it seems to resist wanting to be something greater lol.

Don't the 98+ cabs have a bit more leg room to them.. somehow? Im pretty sure I remember fitting much better in my 98 and 2010 than I do in my 96..

figuring out where that room came from (if I'm not just dreaming) would probably answer the question of whether or not the newer pans could be made to work in the older truck.

I'm sure there was 3" tacked on the cab in 93. Might have been a different year...

Oooh.. probably what I'm thinking of.

I still swear I fit better in the post-beam trucks though.. I am CRAMPED in the 96.. mabey it's the seats or something.

I'm not sure about the added room but, in my friends 2011 I had less leg room (always felt like my knees were in tension) than I do in my current 96. Could be because of the aftermarket seats. I can't have the seat in the rear most position because it makes it feel like I'm stretching a bit to push the clutch in all the way. Btw I'm 6ft even if that helps for reference. I'm also a fairly large build as well so I'm not small by any means. Mine is also the super cab so that could help too

Oh yeah.. supercab helps a ton I'm sure. All my rangers apart from my old '21 have been regular cabs.
