Long story short, replacing my timing chain and gaskets, as i pulled timing cover off, it must've caught my new oil pan gasket cuz there is a tear about 3/4 of the way through the gasket. It's torn from the inside of the pan towards the outside, right next to where the front most bolt on the driver side goes. Is it possible to just use some rtv silicone and repair the tear? Or am i going to have to replace the gasket? it possible to buy a new gasket, and cut the front part off, and put rtv on the parts where the timing cover, oil pan, and block all meet in the corners? I just really dont wana replace my oil pan gasket. Any advice would be great!!
