96 LT1 Camaro

those heads are not the same model one is eliminator, one is outlaw.....fail

Fail? I couldn't find an Outlaw for a Chevy or an Eliminator for Ford.
AFR's site and the SBC heads are all called Eliminator and the Fords are all called Outlaw.

if they were the same (and comparable) they'd have the same name.

the chambers and runners on the heads are not the same........

the chevy cam you posted is 50thousanths bigger than the ford......

parts that are the exact same, not close

i didn't even know that a ford-only company like trick-flow made stuff for chevy

i can't fathom why the gm cam is $259 that's an expensive 350 cam

this is not an argument....is it? the only way to compare apples to apples is to compare identical parts. throwing things that are not identical into the mix isn't an accurate cross-section i.e. heads. cams.....those are about the only parts that are just apples to oranges.

for example
Fail? I couldn't find an Outlaw for a Chevy or an Eliminator for Ford
then why compare them?
pistons, cranks, lifters, pushrods, timimg sets......those and anything that doesn't vary and the manufacturers offer the same models for many engines

i was amazed to see that cam cheaper than the chev. and i am sure that there are parts out there that are exceptions. but as a rule the 302 is 20% more (when you add the 80% parts against the -20%parts) but it is not always that way fords can be cheaper on parts

*edit took out a person's name because i didn't feel right to call him out again

LOL, no discussion would be more proper. But really, you're not going to find an identical part. I really feel if I'm given the task to find heads, cam, pistons, etc. to build my Mustang, I can find it in under the 20% window you named in comparison to the LT1 Camaro.

Maybe some of my examples weren't what you wanted, but I just look at prices in Jegs, etc. Granted, I don't know the SBC like you though man. So, I brought a knife to a gun fight in that respect anyway, lol.

........ it turned into a big blowout where 2 moderators stepped in and said "cammeddrz is right" (it was part of my signature for the longest time) but baddad wouldn't leave it alone with trying to compare apples to oranges and the thread got locked

Oh no, I'm not a hot head about that. But, I'll stick up for my SBF's.

that is a bad step because i never said LT1, which is different from a 350

and i'm sure you could find them cheaper somewhere else, but then you could find cheaper sbc parts somewhere else too.

that is why the only way that works is to use the same supplier (summit, jegs etc), the same brand, and the same model or else its just an exercise in "nu-uh....."

Honestly, I'd rather have an LS any day... A 6.0L LQ block with factory LS3 stuff plus a cam and bolt ons can make 450-475+ rwhp for $2500ish... Pretty good deal there...

Fair enough.

This is a very good point, and almost negates our conversation.

Back to the other point on the AFR heads. I compared SBC vs SBF heads. They call all of their heads for SBF's Outlaw, and SBC's Eliminator in their catalog.
