96 4" lift and freshened interior

Well my truck is at the shop geting allined and inspected. I still have the 31's on it as of now however when it comes back that will be my first change. I was reading the MX2's build and really liked his rear tire carrier. My idea will use some spare metal that i have laying arround to make one for myself. im going to make it fit into the trailor hitch. it will be simple. straight out of tha hitch, to my desired heright, Ill weld one of my old front rotors on to have lugs, and throw my spare on. If i want to open my tailgate ill just take it out, like you take off a hitch. it should be easy and look good.

wow im diggin your black truck. when you build the tire carrier post details, i might rip your idea off a little lol. my exploder needs a tire carrier:icon_welder:

Yea thats the truck i learned how to do everything on. My dad started with me when i was like 11. he put alot of money into it. And i think the tire carrier will be cool and easy. If you want one of my rotors ill ship it to you lol

Well update. I got the 35's on it and its great. The 373's are also fine. its geared a little low but nottttttthinig like people said it was going to be. it iis totallllly drivable. I am gonig to get a 3" body lift too to get more clearance for offfroading. I have yet to go... Ill take some pics later. I also need to drop my front sway bar now because i got inspection. The tire hits

You might think a little differently after you go to the gas station a few times. A friend of mine with a 4.0, 3.73s and 33s gets about 12 MPG in town.

Im used to geting about 9mpg and filling up every 2 days so so far this doesnt seem bad. Im going to run it down and then keep track of my MPG. Im also not a very light footed driver. We will see

you might think about making some sort of hinge in that tire carrier with a pin to hold it in place. that way you dont have to lift the 35, wheel and metal that makes up the carrier. it would probably be about 100 pounds. just a thought.

Well here it is. Im also gonig to get a 3" body lift for the extra clearance.

Looks really good on 35s!

What is your current rear suspension? Still stacked blocks?

3.73s might be driveable but when it comes to wheeling, its going to be a clutch-fest.

that's a beast truck you got there it will be Mo Chunk when you get the additional 3 inches with that body lift. By the way 3.73 gears FTW!

The truck is a auto. Also i have 4x4 low and it should be okay. Today i was driving and then the truck died. I checked the fuel reset thing and it was okay. We got it back into my garage and started checking things. i put a new fuel filter, new spark plugs, and new wires. Still nothing. I pulled a side of plugs and there is no compression on the plug holes. The timing chain must be broken. How big of a deal is it to fix this? can i do it myself of should a shop do it?

Thanks for the comments :) i like it alot too. So i foudnd out what was wrong with the chain. The crank sprocket has a nipple that locks it inot the crank and it broke off. the crank was spinning but not the cam. pain in the but. it will be fixxed tonight tho
