My credo
Hey ya'll, watch this
I have 2 motors, roughly same mileage. Bearings and rings are same for both engines but pistons are different. Would one be any better than other? Im not using fuel injection so thats not an issue.

The 95 is 100% going to be an HO block, with better heads, but will have the 50 oz imbalance.

The 84 is probably non-HO, should be a 28 oz imbalance, and will have heads that don't flow as well.

The 95 is the better engine. But to use a C4 you will either need a big bell, or a small-diameter 50 oz flex plate. Ford never made a 157 tooth 50 oz, but Summit has them fairly cheap.

Should have posted. I have a set of GT40 iron heads and shorty headers with an Edelbrock performer intake. I was told in another post that 84 was a 50 oz imbalance. I have no idea. Guess I could compare balancers

Also, the bell housing I have is for 164 tooth flexplate for a C4. Going in a 84 B2 with 3" body lift

Maybe 82 was the transition year. I was thinking it was 85.

Ok, so you already have a big-bell C4, that makes it super easy, use the 95 engine because it's an HO roller block.

84 should be 50 oz. imbalance, but the 95 will have E7 heads, which flow better.

I have a bunch of sets of heads...and intakes....and headers

Not really. been messing with this thing for years. Got a lot of stuff that wont work. But if anyone needs mustang headers I have a few

I'm starting to gather a nice little pile for myself, too. Mostly interior stuff, seats and tracks, radio bezels, air bags, dash clusters, all extra. Just getting stuff to see what works and what doesn't. Hopefully I'll be able to get rid the stuff I don't use when the time comes.
