So it's time my truck gets an upgrade.

On the list so far.

A CB radio
A PA hooked up to the CB
All new speakers
Installation of an Alpine Head unit I already own
Installation of a nice 4 channel amp my brother is giving me.

So here is my questions.

I need recommendations on a good CB (antenna too), a good PA (the CB and PA need to work with each other), where to find a wiring adapter for ford->alpine, and exactly what size speakers work.

Before the flaming begins, I read the FAQ but it lists somthing like 'speakers that will fit with minimal cutting and/or drilling: and lists most the oval speakers.

Which size/brands do you guys know of that will require NO cutting/drilling. Maybe drilling to match up the mounting holes is ok but I def dont want to start cutting up stuff.

Short version: Whats a good CB/PA setup to run with?
What size/brand speakers go in WITHOUT cutting.
where to buy a Ford->Alpine adapter.

I don't know about the CB and PA. Check here for your speaker sizes: http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/Audio_WhatFits.html

Speaker brand comes down to what you want to pay. Pioneer isn't bad and wal-mart carries them in a few different sizes including 6x8's at the one here.

It would help to know the RMS wattage on the amp. The RMS needs to be matched with the speakers. Not enough and the speakers blow, to little and they won't sound right.

A head unit wire harness can be picked up at wal-mart or most car audio places. They only cost a few bucks. The alpine unit should have a single plug that fits into the back of it with a bunch of wires coming out of it. You just match up the wires to the harness adapter and then crimp it to the harness for the head unit to and put it in the car.

i put a set of 6X8 alpine type R's componet speakers in my doors and put the tweeters in the A pillar and let me tell you what i have not had a better sounding stereo setup in a car since. they ran me about 250 for the pair but it was totaly worth it ALL day. sound quality was A+ and i also run an alpine head unit.

I probably wont spend to much on speakers... but I will be running an older 4 channel amp that my brother is giving me so they have to be decent ... but this is by no means some sort of high quality setup im working on.

Anyone using any mid price range 6x8s?

I have 3-way pioneers, cheapish but i like em, they sound good for the price

I was at Best Buy last week, they had 6x8 Pioneers on sale for $30/pair. Wally World is wanting $50-60/pair.

the "not enough power" thing is just a myth. the only difference youll notice from feeding 100watts to a speaker that can handle 150, is volume. thats considering the user knows how to set the amps gains properly.
