94 Ranger V-8 Swap

Looking Into buying a 1997 V-8 mountanieer, its got a v-8 automatic c4 and a awd transfer case. looking at buying it and swaping everything into my 4.0 94 ranger. has anyone done this before that has a few pointers they can give me?

That won't have a C4, it will have a 4R70. It would be a pretty straight forward swap, use all that you can from the Mountaineer. You won't be able to use the engine mounts, look in the tech articles to make adapters to use your currecnt 4.0L mounts. To use that setup you will need to swap over all the engine wiring to run the engine and transmission.

i was up at the junkyard lastnight and i found a later 80's f-150 with a 5.0efi 5spd and manual transfer case wich is exactly what i want. so im just going to ditch the mountanieer idea. im going to buy the whole f-150 out of the junkyard and switch wiring harness motor tranny and transfer case.
