So I have a 1994 Super Cab with the 2.3L. The other day I decided to replace the front cable due to excessive slack in the cable. The old cable was cut into three different pieces during removal due to rust-welding and swollen rubber. When we installed a new cable, we found that it's several inches too short to connect to the rear cables.

I did measure the wheelbase and double checked the part numbers on the packaging, all are for a 125" wheelbase.

Is this a common issue or did we miss a step somewhere with installing the cable?

There is an adjustment on the foot pedal/ratcheting mechanism i used when i had the same issue on my 1993.
