94 heater question

V8 nick said it better you are not getting circulation one thing you cando is pull the 2 hoses of the firewall connect them with a straight 5/8" connector. If the all the hosed get hot it is something with the core and vic versa

V8nick I was told on my truck in my Lexington, ma I need to pull the dash to change the core

That's correct - the '95+ trucks require pulling the dash. 83-94 is a 20 minute job.

Pfar54. That is good news that your core would be easy to replace. It should be fairly simple and inexpensive for you to figure this out and fix it. Keep posting if you need more help and make sure you post a conclusion!

Brilliant

So I am picturing the Ford engineers sitting around the table in 1994. One says you know that heater core in these trucks is so easy to change. We need to make it so that it it is at least a days project to replace. Another engineers say "I got it" lets make it so that you have to pull the steering wheel and the dash off to replace the $25 core. The other engineer says "Brilliant: http://www.therangerstation.com/foru...ilies/beer.gif

Maybe thinking like that helped the demise of Domestic Automakers....

you are not getting circulation for some reason. follow the heater hoses from the bulkhead to the motor and see if they go directly to the motor or if you have a plastic valve with a vacuum line running to it in line with one of them.

Ok I'll give that a try tomorrow.

Also another thing I forgot to mention is that when I put my hand right infront of the heater core, one side of it was warmer than the other side. As in one part of the heater core was blowing warmer air than the other side. What could that be?

There's a picture of the control valve in the 4 liter forum titled 'what's this called"
