How do i replace the ujoints at the wheels? Can i do them without taking the axls out? Does the drver side axel just slide out and the passenger one i gota take it off the slip joint? Sry for the noob questions. Also where can i get the spicer ujoints? Autozone sells some duralast shit and shows two sizes? Bearng cup size it says anyway idrather have the spicer.

There are two joints that fit, 297x and a 760x. The 297x is an OEM replacement, the 760x is an upgrade. Both are strong, but the 760x is stronger for the weekend wheeler

Where can i get the 760x schucks and autozone sell some other kinds i never heard of.

The stub shaft u-joints can only be changed by removing the shafts, and yes, the pass side can be removed from the slip joint, and the driver side slides out, you will not have to remove the diff. As far as different u-joint sizes, the autoparts store needs to know if you have a Dana 28 or Dana 35 front axle, giving you the two sizes...

just to make sure

when i removed the rotor there are like 5 or 6 studs there, can i remove this plate to take out the axle shaft or can i punch out the u joint without sliding the shaft out of the steering knuckle?:icon_confused:

Those 5 bolts are the bolts to the spindle, remove these nuts, remove the spindle ( soft hammer, like a brass hammer, will be needed as this has a machined lip) and then the shaft can slide out. The knuckle does not need to be removed

Some of those spindles really don't want to come off easy. I ended up using a 2x4 chunk and a 5 pound sledge and lots of beating back and forth on both sides to work it lose enough to help it along with a wedge.

Sometimes they need some persuasion, but its important to remember to use something soft, like a peice of wood or a brass hammer. Never use a metal hammer or mall as you will damage the spindle rendering it useless
