Someone suggested a new thread on this. My 93 has this issue. It started last August. When the truck is started until it's shut off the compressor clutch is engaged and it's cooling. The compressor assy puked it's guts last month. Wed morning I had a new compressor assy, accumulator, orifice tube and cycle switch installed. It was flushed, evacuated, PAG 46'd and pressure checked on both the high and low side. The clutch is engaging about 5 seconds after the truck is started even when the HVAC AC switch is off. It's running in all modes: OFF, MAX, VENT, Hi/LOW, Defrost. The only time it should run automatically is defrost, on all other positions the dial should have to be pushed and the orange light on. What am I missing? I read on a GM forum about the wiring to the ECM but this is beyond my knowledge.
I don't wanna burn this unit up like the other one.
And newer models may have the compressor running all the time but not a 93. My 94 has never done this. It's compressor runs normal.
Thanks for any replies!!!!
